You can preserve your teeth provided you have good dental hygiene and regularly visit your dental hygienist for scaling.

Dental plaque accumulates in certain areas of the mouth and mineralises into a solid deposit called tartar, which can only be removed by a professional dental hygienist.

Our dental hygienists follow up with all our patients annually using the modern GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) method developed by the Swiss company EMS (Electro Medical Systems).

What is the GBT method?

The GBT method focuses on eliminating biofilm (bacterial plaque) and tartar while preserving as much dental and gum tissue as possible. It is based on a combination of tools and techniques using advanced technologies, such as:

  • AirFlow®: Uses a mixture of water, air and soft powder to eliminate biofilm.
  • PerioFlow®: Specific for deep periodontal pockets.
  • PIEZON® NO PAIN: A precise and comfortable ultrasonic technology to eliminate harder tartar.

The GBT method in 6 steps

  • Oral assessment and diagnosis by the hygienist.
  • Detection of biofilm with a dye to visualise the areas to be treated.
  • Explanation and personalised advice
  • Removal of biofilm with AirFlow®
  • AirFlow® is used to remove biofilm from all dental surfaces.
  • A mixture of water, air and a gentle powder (glycine or erythritol) is projected for a precise and painless cleaning.
  • Cleaning of periodontal pockets with PerioFlow® (if necessary)
  • Removal of tartar with PIEZON® NO PAIN

This ultrasonic device is precise, atraumatic and comfortable thanks to controlled vibrations.

Implementation of monitoring and preventive care

  • The patient receives personalised recommendations for maintaining good oral hygiene at home.
  • A follow-up plan is proposed (frequency of visits according to needs).

Advantages of the GBT method

Increased comfort: Less pain and sensitivity thanks to modern tools.
Efficiency: Complete elimination of biofilm and tartar.
Tissue preservation: Non-invasive method that protects enamel and gums.
Personalisation: Suitable for patients with implants, orthodontic appliances or periodontal disease.

How many scaling treatments per year?

All our patients are different, but as a general rule, we recommend 1 to 2 scale and polishing treatments per year.

Some older patients are at greater risk than others, so they need to be more vigilant and have more regular check-ups.

Our shop

Our two clinics have a shop selling a full range of dental cleaning equipment. This means that after scaling or treatment, our patients can immediately purchase the equipment they need.

Your feedback on our treatments is important. Thank you.
